The Lawrence Township Foundation, in partnership is proud to present the FORT BEN 5 & 10.

The Lawrence Township School Foundation is hosting this run as a part of a Reading Rally that morning.  Students and adults that have read during the summer (Our Bookworm Boogie Participants) will have an opportunity to celebrate literacy and be a part of the 1 mile Bookworm Boogie Celebration Walk, immediately following the “Fort Ben 5 & 10”. 

The Lawrence Township School Foundation is a non-profit foundation focused on Educational Excellence for all of our 16,000 students.  Last year we donated over $115,000 for creative classroom projects, scholarships, teacher training and a groundbreaking program called “Digital Age Literacy”.  The proceeds from this run and the activities surrounding it will be used to support literacy programs in each of our 17 schools in Lawrence Township.

Please join us on the morning of September 6th for a fabulous “Fort Ben 5 & 10k” Walk/Run!

Note - some entry forms were printed wrong - below are the correct  start times:
5K Run to start at 8:00 AM
5K Walk to start at 8:05 AM
10K Run to start at 8:40 AM
Celebration One Mile Run at 9:40 AM

Location / Parking
Located at Fort Harrison, Lawrence, IN
Event will start and finish near the Lawrence School Foundation Building at the church (near Otis and Lawton Loop). Parking is available near this area.

Registration / Packet Pick Up

You may register by filling out a form and sending to the address listed. You may also register on-line by going to link at the bottom of this page. Packet pick up and late registration will take place Saturday morning beginning at 6:30 AM.

Entry Fee

Pre-register by August 31 for $15.00

On or after August 31 the fee is $18.00
You receive a colorful T-shirt when you
register. Shirts may be limited on event day.

Scenic Course
The 5K courses will loop you through the Fort Harrison Area - course is fairly flat.
The 10K course will loop you through the same area as the 5K course - plus you will also do a loop into Fort Harrison State Park - there is definitely some hills leading in and out of the park area.

Prize / Age Groups

The overall top finishers in the run and walk (male and female) will receive separate awards and not be eligible for age group awards.
Age groups are as follows for the 5K Run and 10K Run and 5K Walk.

14 under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70+
