§         $20           5K Run or 5K Family Walk

§         $5 Late fee for on-site entries

Awards

§         High quality T-shirts for all participants in the 5K Run and 5K Family Walk

§         Valuable gift certificates for top 3 overall, and top male-female finishers

§         Almost 200 Special Spirit Run awards for all age groups in 5K Run, proportionally awarded depending on number of pre-registered participants

§         Many random raffle awards of various community gift certificates given during awards

Male and Female (5K Run only, no age divisions for 5K Family Walk or Kiddie Romp)

 

14 and Under

15-19              30-34              45-49              60-64

20-24              35-39              50-54              65-69

25-29              40-44              55-59              70 & up

 

 

Purpose of Event

Children often display an amazing spirit that serves as an inspiration to their peers, adults and the world.  It is in celebration of their courage, vigor, and ability to inspire our hearts and souls, the Spirit Run supports 3 local organizations that nurture young hearts and minds.

Proceeds go to:

§         Brooke’s Place (not for profit that provides grief counseling to children and families who have lost loved ones)

§         IPS Elementary School #54 (10th and Dearborn, Indianapolis), oldest IPS grade school

§         University High School in Carmel (provides student volunteers for event, Brooke’s Place, & School 54)

 

Spirit Banner

It has been said that “once we love someone, they become a part of us forever.:  A Spirit Run celebration banner will be displayed at the event and all participants are encouraged to remember and celebrate loved ones who have touched them by adding names, pictures, and verse to the banner.  Runners and walkers will have access to the memorial banner before and after the race.

 

Kiddie Romp

A free Kiddie Romp will be held after the 5K Family Walk from 9:45am-10:00am for children ages 5-10 years old.  Each participant will receive a special award. 

 

Race Management

TrueNorth and Associates, Tuxedo Brothers and The End Result Company, Inc. provide professional race management, on-line entry and scoring and timing services.

 

On-Wish Art Exhibit and Sale

§         Friday, November 4, 5:30-7:30pm (art exhibit and reception)

§         University High School, 2825 W. 116th Street in Carmel

§         Local artists will celebrate the spirit of life by featuring artistic representations of a crane in movement or at rest.  The artwork will be judged in competition and have opportunity to win cash prizes.  Winners will be announced at the reception, and all entries will be on display and available for sale to the public.
