Honorary Chair, Dr. Lauren Dungy-Poythress
Accomplished physician and educator Lauren Dungy- Poythress, MD, currently serves as Medical Director of Maternal-Fetal Medicine for the Community Health Network of Indianapolis, where she promotes the health and well-being of mothers and their unborn babies. Dr. Dungy-Poythress has held a number of positions in obstetrics, gynecology and perinatology where she has received teaching and research awards. She has been published in a number of medical journals and has appeared on local network and public television to promote health topics. She has been recognized by Who’s Who in Black Indianapolis, and received a Merit Award for Outstanding Community Service from the Aesculapian Medical Society of Indianapolis.

Master of Ceremonies, Karen Hensel
Karen Hensel can be seen anchoring 24-Hour News 8 on
WISH-TV at 5p.m. and WNDY at 10p.m. Karen returned to her Indianapolis home
after a successful career in Ft. Wayne. She has received numerous awards for her
outstanding journalism including two Peabody's, a regional EMMY, a national EMMY
nomination, RTNDA's Edward R. Murrow, a Scripps Howard, a Gabriel, a Golden
Viddy, a CAN, Indiana Broadcasters Association's Spectrum Award, two IRIS's, a
Bronze Quill and several awards from the Associated Press.
Active in the community, Karen was recognized as "Fort Wayne Woman of Achievement." A mother of two, she has been instrumental in creating the twice-yearly child car seat checks in Fort Wayne and hosts the
Vera Bradley Classic to raise money for breast cancer research. Karen is thrilled to support Ovar’coming Together and its fight against ovarian cancer.

Friday, September 28, Noon- 6 PM
Victory Field, 501 W. Maryland St., Indianapolis. Victory Field is located at the corner of West and Maryland Streets, just west of downtown Indianapolis.
Race day registration
Saturday, September 29, 7:30 – 8:45 AM
$22 per person. Remaining T-shirts will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Course Start/Finish
Turn UP the Volume! begins and ends at Victory Field. Participants can choose from a 4-mile run, a 3-mile walk or a 1-mile family walk.
Awards for competitive run
The top overall finisher in the RUN ONLY will receive separate awards. The top 3 in each age group (males and females- run only) will receive prizes. Age groups for the run are: 11 and under 12-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, etc., 75+
Timing
Runners will receive a timing chip that must be returned at the conclusion of the race. A $30 fee, payable to event organizer, will be charged for unreturned chips. Runners must maintain at least a 12-minute pace per mile for the four mile course.
There will be a display clock to show times for the 3-mile walk.

Parking
For a $3.00 fee, participants can park at the White River State Park garage off Washington Street, directly across from Victory Field. Parking along city streets is free on Saturdays.
A limited number of premium parking spaces located in the Victory Field lot will be available on a first come - first serve basis (no charge)
Ovar’coming Together and Tuxedo Brothers reserve the right to delay, reschedule or cancel the race due to extreme or severe weather conditions.

All pledges raised from Turn UP the Volume! will support the programs offered by Ovar’coming Together, Indiana’s nonprofit ovarian cancer education and resource organization. While collecting pledges is not required, pledges allow Ovar’coming Together to maximize its education and support efforts.
It’s easy to collect pledges:
· Set a goal… $125 is a good place to start!
· E-mail your family and friends. Better yet, get them together to form a team.
· Ask your business if they have a matching gift program
· Collect pledges in honor of friends or loved ones.
· No gift is too small. Ask people to give whatever they can.
