About RiverFest
NIFS and The Joseph F. Miller
Foundation and Fifth Third Bank have teamed up to promote healthy lifestyles
for the entire family. The 7th Annual RiverFest Run & Walk is a great
way to kick start or maintain your exercise program and pursuit of healthy
habits.
Proceeds from RiverFest will benefit NIFS' Cardiopulmonary
special populations programs by providing scholarships for those in need, quality equipment, and
experienced staff.

The Scoop
When: Saturday, August
30, 2003
What: A 5K Run, 5K Walk, 10K Run
and 10K Wheelchair a kiddie romp
Where: The run and walk and kiddie romp will take place
at NIFS building.
Packet Pick up will take place at NIFS - The National Institute for Fitness and Sport
is located in
beautiful White River State Park on the
south side of the IUPUI campus at 250 University Blvd, Indianapolis, IN 46202.
Parking is
available in the IUPUI Sports Garage and adjacent lots. There is a fee to park.
Time: The 5 K run starts at
8:00 AM - 5K Walk starts at 8:05 AM - 10K Run starts at 8:40 AM.
The
kiddie romp begins at 9:30 a.m.
Registration
Pre-Registration: Postmark by Saturday, August 22. (All
participants will receive a RiverFest T-shirt).
5K run/ walk or 10K Run fee: $15 Results will be available at www.tuxbro.com
Kiddie Romp: FREE
Race Day Registration: (T-shirt on first-come, first served basis):
5K Run/Walk & 10K Run Fees: $18
NIFS Members--To receive your $2 pre-registration
discount, please print
off the registration form and mail to: NIFS RiverFest, 250 University
Boulevard, Indianapolis IN 46202. The NIFS member discount is not available
when registering on-line."
Packet Pick-Up
(Packets can be picked up at NIFS on: Friday, August

from 11AM to 2PM or 4-7PM - Saturday, August
30 from 6:30 -8:15AM)
Awards & Prizes
Awards will be given out to the top three male and female finishers
of all age divisions for the 5-mile Run and Race Walk (5 year increments:
12& under, 13-19, 20-24, ...) and for the overall individual categories.
Event Highlights
RiverFest is more than a Run/Walk...It's fun and healthy activities for the
entire family!
NIFS Health and Fitness Expo
Various health and fitness organizations will provide education
information.
Kiddie Romp (ages 12 and younger)
Take part in this non-competitive activity where youth can experience
the thrill of start and the glory of finish. Registration is free.
AMICA Message Tent
Massage therapists will be on-site for FREE massages for event
participants
